The Round Rock Area Arts Council welcomes you to become involved with the arts and cultural scene in Round Rock! With two excellent performance and art shows under its belt, the Council celebrates the opening of its new space in downtown Round Rock in May 2010, and we would love to see you come by and see what Round Rock has to offer. Two theater groups, two symphonies, a community choir, a band, and talented artists displayed in various venues around town, this "Sports Capital of Texas" has hit a home run in encouraging the creative class.

The goal of the organization is to encourage, support and enhance arts and cultural activities in the Round Rock area to transform the city into a thriving arts and culture scene.

"No one wants to live in a community void of arts and culture,” said Cathy Kincaid, President of the Round Rock Area Arts Council and Executive Editor of the Community Impact Newspaper community newspaper group “The arts stimulate conversation about the community and contribute to making it an appealing place for all of us who live here and those who come to visit."

“We have a lot of culture and history in Round Rock but it’s not as evident as it could and should be,” said Kris Whitfield, a Round Rock Councilwoman and Chair of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce’s Government Relations Committee. She serves as First Vice President of the arts council. “Our sights are on promoting creative arts in the community to help strengthen that sense of place in Round Rock. And as a noteworthy auxiliary benefit, a strong arts component in the community helps us attract future business and investment."

Made up of a grassroots group of dedicated and diverse individuals, the non-profit Round Rock Area Arts Council was formed in January 2009 and has hosted two annual events called "Imagine" presenting musical, performaing, and visual arts and opened a community gallery in May 2010 in downtown Round Rock. Come and visit us!
